a :30-second commercial of the upcoming documentary film, Born To Rein, was played on Churchill Downs' "The Big Board" – the world’s largest 4K video screen in all of sports. Born To Rein honors Minatare, Nebraska native, John A. Nerud -- who was instrumental in co-founding the Breeders' Cup and served as its inaugural marketing committee chairman -- along with fellow Nebraskans, father-and-son trainers, Marion and Jack Van Berg of Columbus.
With the historic Twin Spires at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., as the backdrop, family members of native Nebraskans and National Hall of Fame Horsemen – John A. Nerud, and father-and-son trainers, Marion and Jack Van Berg -- recently gathered in the Winner's Circle to represent the accomplishments of their patriarch descendants during the 35th running of the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
